Today, Batts Morrison Wales & Lee (BMWL) is pleased to announce the formation of a special team within the firm to serve nonprofit organizations that operate significantly in the film and media arenas.
“Nonprofit organizations are finding new and creative ways to reach people with their message – and for many of them, film and media are central aspects of their strategy. Our new Film and Media Team is ready to help,” said Steve Cardwell, the newly appointed leader of the Film and Media team.
In recent years, more nonprofit organizations have been sharing their message through television, radio, production of full-length motion pictures and video programs, content streaming, and other media activities. BMWL’s new Film and Media Team will focus on helping clients address the unique accounting, tax, and operational aspects of these media-based activities.
“We expect our new Film and Media Team to play a crucial role in serving nonprofit organizations with significant media operations,” said Mike Batts, BMWL’s managing partner. “I am excited to establish this new Film and Media Team to serve their unique professional service needs, and I am very pleased to name Steve Cardwell as the practice leader of that team. I know Steve will lead the team with excellence.”
The cross-disciplinary group of professionals that comprise the BMWL Film and Media Team includes CPAs, some of whom have decades of experience serving nonprofit organizations in the media arena.
