Tax 101 for Churches, Schools, Ministries, and Other Public Charities

About The Event

Every nonprofit leader should have a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts of federal tax compliance in relation to their organization!  While navigating the complexities of tax laws can be a daunting task, we want to make sure that you understand some core concepts in order to prevent unintentional oversight that places your organization at risk.  This is why we are hosting Tax 101 for Churches, Schools, Ministries, and Other Public Charities.

This half-day session with BMWL Tax Team leaders will cover tax compliance topics essential to the safe operation of churches, schools, ministries, and other public charities.

Topics to Be Covered Will Include:

How to protect your organization’s tax-exempt status

Addressing unrelated business income and its implications

  Safely setting executive compensation

Addressing related party transactions and conflicts of interest

  Properly receipting contributions

The basics of housing allowance for clergy

  And more

Tax 101 for Churches, Schools, Ministries, and Other Public Charities will be interactive…we will address questions live as we go! And, in order to make it more accessible, there will be two separate dates and locations available for you to attend.
