In this presentation, originally presented at the BMWL National Nonprofit Conference on November 15, 2019, Mike Batts discusses how nonprofits can maximize the impact of their organization while controlling costs. Nonprofit organizations are called to leave a lasting impact in people’s lives. So how do the organization’s leaders carry out that mission? Mike Batts outlines 3 items to help nonprofit leaders achieve their organizations’ goals. They are:

1. Clear targets for financial health,
2. Clearly written mission and purpose statements of the organization, and
3. A clear budget plan where every initiative and program contributes to the organization’s clearly written mission and purpose.

Organizational leaders that budget towards mission instead of good ideas will find themselves with fewer cash flow challenges and more of the lasting impact their organization was called to carry out.
